ELECTRIC RATES Kentucky is riding high on a wave of industrial development that has flooded the Midwest the past decade. More than 100 Japanese companies have moved here because of numerous financial incentives, tax credit programs, our prime central location, an excellent transportation network, dedicated workers, some of the cheapest electric rates in the nation and one of America’s most spectacular rural landscapes. Our state government has a system of performance-based incentive programs. The state offers tax credits covering up to 100 percent of annual debt service costs for up to 15 years on land, buildings, site development, building fixtures and equipment.
