In the fall of 2000, Touchstone Energy harvested native plant seed from electric transmission and distribution lines throughout eastern and central Kentucky. The seeds have been placed in packets to be distributed for landscaping gardens, planting in environmental education centers and for beautification along our state roads. The complimentary seed packets are provide as a community service by your local rural electric cooperative - Touchstone Energy partner. Included in these seed packets are a mix of Kentucky native forbs and grasses. Some of the species included will be Spiked Blazing Star, Purple Coneflower, Indian Grass, Big Bluestem and Little Bluestem.
